I thought I made a colossal mistake at the Softbank shop in Tokyo where I bought my iPhone. I had the feeling that [oh man] I just spent way too much and I really didn't need to. But putting the iPhone to use changed my entire perception. I quickly realized that having the world in my pocket is a VERY nice thing.

Have you dropped by a cell phone shop to test drive T-Mobile's G1 or Sony's Experia? We'd like to know what you think of them!

Same goes for me. Can't live without mine either.

Almost 5 years ago I blew $350US on an electronic Japanese dictionary. A lot of the same functionality is built into a $19.99 iPhone app I now use.

I took the iPhone plunge about 2 months ago. And like you, I'm not looking back. Frankly, I should have made the move when it first launched. I bet 'standard' phones go the way of the dinosaurs....

I'll give that a try as I've heard people say it's the best out there and I don't mind paying for apps. Had a look at the screenshots on their site and definately like the look of its interface.

I don't need a smartphone, they are too expensive and a total overkill for what I do with a phone, which is texting and calling sometimes. This doesn't mean I don't like them, the G1 and the SE XPERIA look quite good.

I never really liked the Twitterific interface all that much. I prefer a more native iPhone-like design for a Twitter client, which is why I adore Tweetie more than any other. It is not free but definitely well worth the price IMHO.

I currently user Twitterfon after a long relationship with Twitterific. It was a rough breakup but I'm happier now, much prefer the interface i.e. sections for replies as reading it all in-line in Twitterfic was a chore after a while.

It is for those reasons why an iPhone is definitely the mobile device (ie. smartphone) of choice these days. There is no better mobile browser than Mobile Safari. Coupled with the available apps, and you can clearly see why the iPhone is an excellent solution for all smartphone computing needs.
