In my opinion it would be better to make some sort of mini forum. Unless each discussion is based on the blog post, for example you would write an article about poverty and then everybody should only place comments based on that subject. The idea here is to merely allow people to post whatever they want in a single article and potentially be a catalyst for discussions. It's just a technique to try and jump start article commenting.
