TechMiso Taken Over By Holland

Yorick Peterse - TechMisoAs if the TechMiso crew wasn’t getting big enough, it just got worse. Today TechMiso faced a few serious problems as their website was raided by Dutch farmers who sell tulips, live in Amsterdam and walk around in wooden clogs all day. Luckily for them, they only left one person behind, that person is me.

So let me introduce myself. My name is Yorick Peterse, I am your average 16 year old boy, who’s currently enjoying the fact that he’s done with Secondary school (finally.) There’s only one problem, I have an addiction. Only the addiction is a positive one, I am addicted to photography and web development. I started doing both about a year ago, first web development, and after a few months I also gotten into photography. It wasn’t the first time I came into contact with art, in fact, I’ve been into art my whole life. Now you might wonder what the heck this has to do with TechMiso, but to tell you the truth, it has everything to do with it.

About 2 years ago, somewhere in May 2007 I believe, I signed up for DeviantArt. I wanted to promote myself and get into contact with other artists, as well as using it as a source of inspiration. This was the place where I learned about Scott, after all he co-founded DeviantArt. Of course, at the time Scott wasn’t active on DeviantArt anymore and probably wasn’t even thinking of starting TechMiso. When I signed up for Twitter, about 6 months ago, I was looking for people worth following, and frankly enough Scott had Twitter too (god, I sound like a stalker.) This is actually how I was introduced to TechMiso. It seems that Tweeting about a website does work after all.

When Scott tweeted about TechMiso looking for new recruits, I replied to him that I was interested in writing for TechMiso, and look where we are I am now, sitting behind the computer and actually taking the time to write a decent article. I’m not a superb writer, but I do try to write my articles as best as I can. The handicap I’m facing is the fact that English is not my native tongue, even though it’s a million times better than my Dutch. Sometimes I’m actually mistaken for either an Australian or a British guy, I guess spending each holiday in England, for 4 years long, does work after all.

British, Australian or Dutch, who gives a damn. It’s time to start writing articles for Techmiso. Don’t expect me to spam this blog every day, I take my time for each article. Though ofcourse I’ll try to do my best to write atleast one or two articles per week.
